What is a millionaire’s mindset?
September 5, 2008

Have you ever heard of the self-fulfilling prophecy? Self-fulfilling prophecy means that if you predict or believe something to be true, it will come true by your conscious or unconscious actions. Think about it—if you believe that you will fail a test or won’t get a promotion, you could say to yourself, “Why bother?” You might not study as hard, or you may feel stressed when you study and have difficulty retaining the information. Or, at your job, you might not work quite as hard, because, after all, what’s the point if you won’t be rewarded? It’s very hard to stay motivated when you believe you won’t be rewarded for your work.
Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad once said, “Money will be anything you want it to be.” That means, if you believe money is hard to obtain, it always will be. If you believe that you’ll never be rich, you won’t be. If you believe that only the elite (which you believe you are not a part of) know how to build wealth then you never will build wealth. If you flip your thinking around, you can choose to believe that money something that you can obtain. You must truly, with every fiber in your being, believe that you will become rich.
Kiyosaki also says that you have to mentally prepare yourself to become rich, and he compares this mental preparation to the kind required to climb Mt. Everest. Wow, that’s a serious commitment. But it makes sense, because if you aren’t completely committed to becoming rich, then you won’t ever be willing to do whatever it takes to get there. You won’t stay motivated, and you will never reach your goal.
Think it over seriously. Think about the level of dedication that it will take, and ask yourself whether you are truly ready to commit to this goal and path. Don’t take this decision lightly. This kind of commitment is as serious as committing yourself to priesthood. Consider that this is a lifestyle commitment that will change you from the inside out.
